Wanting to camp without the inconvenience of canvas? Then why not try a weekend at the Downham Camping Barn. Set in the tranquility of the National Landscape of the Forest of Bowland, this stone ‘tent’ nestles at the foot of mysterious Pendle. Wake to the sound of lambs and fresh budding hawthorne.
Walk the myriad of footpaths from the barn or use it as a jumping off place for trips to the market town of Clitheroe, complete with Castle, or further afield to Lancaster through the stunning Trough of Bowland.
The barn sleeps 12 upstairs with a large gathering area downstairs for cooking and chatting. Heated by a small log burner and with long table and benches, the perfect place for conversation. Outside are picnic tables and a fire pit. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads due to the proximity of livestock.
