We would like to volunteer to offer relief warden cover and would love to hear from any hostels that may need holiday cover for a week or two this year.
We are currently wardens at Puttengam Barn in Surrey, and last year we also spent a week as wardens at Kirk Yetholm Hostel. We are hoping to find opportunities during the summer or October holidays, as I am a teacher and have availability during these periods. Zhexi is a nurse.

Our paths almost crossed back in 2012 as he was volunteering with YHA and came to do Earby multiple times (along with many other YH hostels) when I departed for Kirk Yetholm Hostel. I would describe Stephen as totally reliable, personable and organised. He is a primary teacher so relates to people well. He is one of the dying breed who is passionate about small hostels. Has been VW at Puttenham for numerous years along with different YHA hostels in the last 15+ years. I would have no hesitation leaving Kirk Yetholm Hostel in Stephen’s capable hands for a week or more!
