This wonderful woodland hide-away in Derbyshire has late availability on the 28th-30th March, for either sole use or individual room bookings.
Come and stay at this unique, off-road woodland hostel, which is only accessible by woodland footpaths!
Your adventure starts when you arrive by train or bus at Ambergate and follow our walking directions to the hostel, or when you arrive at our private woodland car park and put all your belongings into one of our hostel wheelbarrows, to wander along beautiful woodland footpaths to the hostel half a mile away.
The hostel sleeps up to 20 people in 5 bedrooms, has 3 bathrooms with showers, is fully heated and has a very well equipped self-catering kitchen.
The hostel is located in the stunning Shining Cliff woodland, an ancient woodland on the slopes of the Derwent Valley World Heritage Site. There are hundreds of acres of woodland to explore, with crags, streams and a lake. Go exploring to find the remains of the ‘Betty Kenny tree’ reputed to have been the origin of the lullaby ‘Rock a bye baby’, or head down to White Peak Distillery to sample some of their whisky and gin.
If you want to explore further, there are great pubs and cafes within walking distance, or catch a train to explore Matlock Bath and Cromford Mills. There are so many options from our front door!
You are able to either book your own room for just £20 per adult/night and £15 per child/night OR you can book the entire hostel at our reduced offer rates of £200/night for 13-20 people, £150/night for 7-12 people, or £120/night for up to 6 people.
Dogs are welcome for sole use groups, but sorry we cannot accommodate them for individual room bookings.

Please note the fire pits are not available for guests to use at present, so no campfires are allowed in the woodland.
