Next week we have resident volunteer wardens ready to welcome you to Shining Cliff hostel. Come and have a woodland adventure, either solo, with family or with friends as we have rooms for all group sizes up to 6 people.
It’s just £20 per adult and £ 15 per child to stay each night and you have your own private bedroom with shared communal facilities, plus a stunning fire pit area for campfires.
We have rooms available from Monday 19th – Friday 23rd August at this stunning woodland get-away. The adventure starts with loading your belongings into wheelbarrows at the private car park and walking half a mile along a stunning woodland footpath until you reach the hostel nestled in the heart of Shining Cliff woods in Derbyshire.
You can spend days exploring the streams, crags and footpaths meandering through this ancient woodland, or you can venture further afield and discover the beautiful Peak District National Park and the Derwent Valley World Heritage Site that are on the doorstep.
It’s also possible to arrive by train or bus, as we provide thorough walking directions from the nearby village of Ambergate, this way of arriving makes it a real adventure for kids!
The hostel has a wonderful feel of being away from it all, it’s wonderful to sit outside first thing in the morning, with a cuppa and simply listen to the birdsong and the wind gently moving through the trees. And in the evenings you can sit around the campfire, making wonderful memories with friends and family or simply enjoying the peace and solitude of being out in a safe space on your own.
