If you are thinking about embarking on Glyndwr’s Way, the traditional timber-framed bunk house of Bwthyn Bach is perfectly located as a base from which to do so. Nestled in the small and friendly village of Trefeglwys, it is less than four miles from Llanidloes, where the path passes through on its way North West towards Machynlleth.
Bwthyn Bach is a great place to stop and rest up after walking and enjoying the glorious Cambrian Mountains. It sleeps 15 and has a good sized kitchen if you’re cooking for yourselves, or there’s the Red Lion pub right next door, which serves good pub grub and is a really relaxed and friendly place.
This old house is a beautiful listed building dating back well over 300 years, so be prepared to find plenty of historical interest throughout. Please note, it isn’t modernised, as we want to keep it as authentic as possible. If your idea of cosy, is sitting round an inglenook fireplace with a roaring blaze, then we think you’ll love it!
Bwthyn Bach would be a perfect staging post on your route along Glyndwr’s Way, or could even be the base for your whole expedition as it is only 30 miles from Knighton and 25 from Weshpool – at either end of the Glyndwr’s Way loop. We’d love to hear from you if you would like to find out more.
