Inveraray Hostel is close to the wild and beautiful Loch Fyne. It has a welcoming atmosphere, private rooms, a wildlife friendly garden and an Electric Vehicle charging point.
We are doing our best to reduce the hostel’s impact on the environment. Our electricity supply comes from sustainable sources, our daily cleaning products are eco-friendly, we have facilities to recycle packaging and staff voluntarily take your glass receptacles to the community recycling unit. We reuse what we can instead of throwing it away, promote the sharing of food over wastage and compost most food waste. We are also creating a wildlife-friendly garden, feeding the delightful garden birds and encouraging our visitors to take an interest in the local flora and fauna. Our efforts so far have earn us a SILVER Green Tourism Award.
While you are here take a wee wander along the shore of Loch Fyne from Inveraray Hostel, as the tide creeps out. See the Oyster Catchers and their well-camouflaged but rather exposed eggs. Or listen to the baby blackbirds freshly hatched in a nest in the hostel garden. Visit Crarae Garden to see stunning Magnolia, Rhododendron and Azalea. Or visit Ardkinglas Woodland Garden home to Britain’s largest trees and smallest birds.
