Historic self catering accommodation in an ideal for walking on Hadrian’s Wall
Gibbs Hill Farm is a traditional working hill farm on Hadrians Wall in the Northumberland National Park. Farmed now by the fourth generation and dating back to before the 17th century. Gibbs Hill Farm would have had to defend their stock from the violent Border Reivers in the past. Gibbs Hill was so named because the sheep stealers were hanged on a gibbet on the farms land as a warning to all! The present owners, a more peaceful family, are the fourth generation to farm here. The farm has cows, sheep and Highland cattle. Holiday cottages are available and a bunkhouse which welcomes individuals for single night stay and sleeps 18 people so is also ideal for groups.
