Are you looking for a new cycling adventure this year? Then why not cycle the Welsh Coast?
Dave Lewis, a writer from Pontypridd, did just that in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. For two weeks in summer 2016 he set about to cycle the Welsh coast and the Wales / England border a trip of almost 700 miles raising over £500 for the charity.
Having struggled with punctures, the great Welsh weather, pink sheep and a surreal encounter with wool he somehow managed to finish his challenge, write a book- Wales Trails- about his adventures as well as set up a new website to promote the route.
The aim of the ride was to encourage more cyclists to repeat the route and explore some of the most stunning scenery in the UK. Dave’s hope is that one day soon this ride will become as iconic as the legendary Land’s End to John o’ Groats (LEJOG). So, over to you bikers! Let’s spread the word and put Wales firmly on the cyclist’s ‘must-do’ map!
