Quirky glamping wagons in rural Cumbria
Renisons Farm is situated down a long farm track 25 miles N/W of Penrith. A 10 minute drive takes you to two villages with shops and a pub serving evening meals.
The 3 glamping units are wooden Czech wagons, chosen for their sturdiness and size compared to the traditional shepherds huts. Each hut has a king size bed with lovely thick duvets & blankets & plenty of head room. Please note there is no heating so bring plenty of warm clothing.
There are 3 extra 'service' wagons; 1 x fully equipped kitchen, 1 x shower/WC, 1x kitchenette/shower/loo combo.
All wagons are completely off grid with solar powered heating.
Outside, as well as awesome views over to Belncathra, the Howgills and the Solway Firth, there are 2 firepits/BBQ areas with seating. A small bag of logs is supplied and more can be purchased. Guests can also buy home-produced sausage, bacon, eggs and seasonal veg.
Guests are welcome to explore the farmland, maps can be provided. Wildlife, birds and butterflies abound, (don't forget your binoculars) and at night the dark star filled skies are a fine replacement for any screen.
Everything is off-grid and solar powered. Situated on a working regenerative farm down a long (and bumpy) track in rural east Cumbria. 25 miles N/W of Penrith and 9 miles W of Alston. Surrounded by stunning scenery, rolling farmland (through which you are welcome to walk) and a host of bird and insect life this is a real rural escape.
