Fabulous hostel on the Isle of Benbecula

Nunton House Hostel is part of an historic 18th century house on the enchanting Isle of Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides. Now divided into separate dwellings, it was once the home of the Clan Chief of the MacDonald's of Clan Ranald. It was where the Bonnie Prince Charlie was disguised as Flora MacDonald's maid, before escaping over the sea to Skye.

Situated on the west coast of the island, the hostel is close to the beautiful sand & shingle beach of Culla Bay. With the sea on one side & moorland walks on the other, Nunton House Hostel offers guests the chance to escape the rat race and relax into a much slower pace of island life. It also makes the perfect base for exploring the neighbouring islands most of which are accessible and back within a day

Tastefully furnished to a very high standard, Nunton House Hostel sleeps 16 in 4 en suite rooms of 4. Facilities include a very well equipped kitchen, with all you need for cooking your own meals and free rice and pasta. Plus cereal, bread, tea, coffee, milk and butter for a light breakfast. There is also a comfortable common room with an inglenook fireplace, a laundry (£2 per wash),a drying area and a bike shed. All bed linen is provided. Towels can be hired (£2). Book by the bunk, the room or book sole use and enjoy the hostel to yourself.
