The Kepplewray Centre, a Christian-based inclusive outdoor centre, housed in a large Victorian mansion, is located in the south of the Lake District National Park.
Run by the charity, The Kepplewray Trust, this wonderful centre accommodates groups of between 30 and 60 across 15 rooms. Each room sleeps between 1 & 14 in single beds & bunks. Some of the rooms are en-suite, while the others are all very close to bathrooms. Guests can relax in three lovely lounges, a large well equipped games room and a conservatory. Outside there are extensive grounds. The Centre prides its self on its accessibility.
This impressive Centre is ideally suited for hosting groups of all kinds, from school & youth groups to faith groups, corporate team building, friends & family get-togethers and disability groups.
A whole range of instructor-led outdoor activities, both on- and off-site, can be arranged for your group if required. These include, roped climbing and abseiling, archery, team building challenges, mountain/fell walking, kayaking, canoeing, raft-building, ghyll-scrambling and stand up paddle boarding.
You can opt to self-cater or choose a catered package.
The Centre is situated a short walk from the historic town of Broughton-in-Furness, with its shops, cafes & pubs. The wider area of the Duddon Valley, described as a jewel in the crown of Cumbria, is situated between Coniston and Eskdale. This area is largely remote, unspoilt and perhaps the most idyllic valley of the Lake District. The Duddon Valley will delight walkers, mountain bikers, climbers, nature lovers and those who enjoy the peace and beauty of the countryside.

Kepplewray is approx 30 miles from the M6 (normally takes 35-45 minutes). Whether travelling from the north or the south: Leave the M6 at junction 36 onto the A590, signposted Kendal and Barrow. After 3 miles turn off towards Barrow (still the A590). Do not go straight on towards Kendal and Windermere (A591).. Follow the A590 for 17 miles (through Newby Bridge). Take the right hand turning onto the A5092 at Greenodd signposted Broughton, Workington and Coniston. Continue on this road for 8 miles, it becomes the A595 at Grizebeck. After Grizebeck for about 4 miles, the road takes a number of sharp bends followed by a straight section which leads to a sharp left bend with a large lay-by on the right hand side (old quarry). Follow the road round this bend, then signal right to take the road signed 'Local Traffic'. BE VERY CAREFUL at this junction, as there is a hidden dip ahead of you just before you make the turn. Follow the windy road for a mile until you see the school signs. Signal right when you come to these signs as you will be making a turn just over the brow of the hill.Public Transport :
The nearest railway station is at Foxfield approximately a 1 mile walk from the Centre. The station and line is operated by Northern and more information is available at www.northernrailway.co.uk. Connections from Barrow in Furness if travelling from the south or from Carlisle travelling from the North.Walks :
