News & Offers from Glenfinnan Sleeping Car
Glenfinnan Sleeping Car offers a 10% discount to guests arriving on public transport or by active travel (walking or cycling).
March 28th 2025
Those doing the Cape Wrath Trail or on National Cycle Route 78 will probably pass through Glenfinnan. Why not stop for a night and claim your discount? It’s not far to walk from the train station, so there is no excuse not to use public transport.
For those cycling, although we are right on the NCR 78 we would suggest you take the train instead of the stretch along the A830 as it is a very fast, dangerous road to cycle.
RAIL
In Scottish Gaelic the line is called Rathad Iarainn nan Eilean (Iron Road to the Isles). Guests can travel from London Euston Station overnight on the Caledonian Sleeper to Fort William, and then travel on by train to Glenfinnan, and to Mallaig if they wish.

BUS
There are also bus connections via CityLink from the north and south of Scotland to Fort William. The Fort William Bus Station is next to the Train Station. Click here for CityLink times and fares.

Perfect for west coast wanderers
May 23rd 2024
Hiking, climbing, cycling or just wandering where your feet take you, the Glenfinnan Sleeping Car is a great base for local Corbetts and Munros, and local walks on surrounding estate land.
Many of our guests are on longer walks – we are a popular first night stop on the Cape Wrath Trail, for hikers to have possibly the last hot shower, comfy bed or hearty meal for several days, if not a week!
We’re also well-connected by bus and train for days out, including taking the Mallaig-Skye ferry.
