Home to wardens and volunteers, stay here and experience the wealth of history and wildlife on a guided tour, take a short walk and watch the sunset, or just sit back and relax in the cosy island pub.
Dormitory accommodation is available in our farmhouse, which can sleep up to 24 people (in a 10 bed room and a 12 bed room). It features a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, lounge, and toilet/wash and shower rooms, as well as a Victorian walled garden for relaxation, with a stone barbecue for outdoor eating.
Camping is available in the farmhouse paddocks (non-electric, tents not provided), with access to the farmhouse toilets and showers.
The Grade II listed foghorn cottage has been converted into a self-catering cottage, offering a stylish double bedroom, twin bedroom, lounge with double sofa bed, two toilet and shower rooms, fully equipped kitchen, and dining room with table and chairs for six. The cosy cottage also boasts a biomass boiler for heating, a front and rear entrance, and private garden with stone barbecue and inspiring views.
There are also four pods each sleeping one person with solar lighting, and a yurt for four people in our farmhouse paddocks.
Trips to the island are dependent on weather and may be cancelled due to strong winds, sometimes at short notice. If you cannot reschedule the ticket, the price will be refunded.

Boat departure point from Barrage South pontoon, Cardiff Bay Barrage, Penarth, CF64 1TT. Once on the island, bags need to be carried to the top of the steps where they will be transported to your accommodation by tractor and trailer. All accommodation is within five minutes walking distance.Public Transport :
Return boat transport to and from the island need to be booked with either www.bayislandvoyages.co.uk or cardiffcruises.co.uk/discover-flatholm-island . Trains to Cardiff Bay or Cogan are approximately a twenty-minute walk to the boat departure point. Boats cannot wait for passengers, so please ensure you leave plenty of time and arrive at the boat departure point at least 15 minutes before the scheduled boat departure time.Walks :
