Better than The Lancashire Trail and Wainwrights Way? You heard it here first!
March 28th 2025
Did you know… We are ideally located on the Lancashire Way – The Eastern Loop.
The Lancashire Way was created by Neil Harwood who is a born and bred in Lancashire man. He realised that there was something missing while walking in Lancashire. Sure, there are many shorter trails in Lancashire such as The Ribble Way, The Pendle Way, The Witton Weavers Way, the Wyre Way, the Lancashire Coastal Path but none of them really truly show off the breadth of the county. And there are longer walks such as The Lancashire Trail and Wainwrights Way. Both are great walks but are linear and miss significant parts of the county.
The Lancashire Way includes all the best parts of the county in multiple loops. The aim of Neil and The Lancashire Way is to help you gain a full and true appreciation of what Lancashire has to offer.
Why not book a few nights at Earby Hostel and explore the Lancashire Way? It combines many local footpaths and has been painstakingly planned by Neil. There is something for everyone and so much to explore.

Local Lancashire Walks you are bound to fall in love with
March 20th 2025
The Lancashire Lad’s website (www.lancashirelad.com) is brimming with local walks along with plenty of pictures, instructions and top tips. It’s a wealth of local knowledge just waiting to be tapped into. Below is a walk that we have been loving recently.
Nicky Nook – 3 Mile Walk
Whilst this circular fell walk is only 3 miles, there is a short, steady climb at the start to the top of the fell, with a fantastic panoramic view looking out towards the coast, parts of the Lakes, within touching distance of the Forest of Bowland.
It’s a beautiful walk in the local area. Great for families as the steady incline creates a challenge. Gorgeous views at the top and, most importantly, a cafe! Full details for the walk can be found on www.lancashirelad.com
