Only 20 minutes' drive from Kendal, Dacre's Stable Camping Barn at Grisedale Farm is in the new Eastern extension to the Lake District National Park. On a very quiet gated road away from the main A6 it is a perfect base from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and the Eden Valley, all within an hour's drive. Great for mountain biking, walking and cycling on quiet tracks and lanes, surrounded by wildlife and space to gaze, bird-watch, sketch, play, read or do nothing but dream.

Dacre's Stable (named after a fell pony who lived at the farm) is a flexible, friendly space for families, individuals or groups, with a green ethos. It sleeps up to 8 on a sole use, self-catering basis. The ground floor - which is wheelchair accessible - sleeps 2-3 on sofa beds. It has an adjoining shower room with underfloor heating, a wood-burner and a well-equipped kitchen area. Upstairs, reached by outside steps, sleeps 5-6 with a wood-burner and drying rack. BYO towels, sleeping bags/ warm bedding and pillow cases and torches.

Access: There are a few steps leading to the main door, but this can also be accessed by a gentle grass slope. There is level access between the stable and the barn, which contains the main fridge/freezer. Bedrooms: There is a ground floor bedroom which is wheelchair accessible, however the upper dorm is not accessible to wheelchairs. Toilet: There is a wheelchair accessible wet room on the ground floor which has underfloor heating and contains a toilet, fixed overhead shower and sink. It’s a perfect base for exploring the Lake District, The Dales and The Eden Valley.   Cyclists can explore the quiet country lanes.  For walkers the many routes around Ambleside and the Southern Lakes are a short drive away.  Others may just prefer to relax, recoup, recharge in peace perfect peace!
