Base Lodge is ideally situated for exploring Exmoor, the Quantocks and the North Devon coast by mountain bike or foot. Excellent off and on road mountain biking for all levels. Guided mountain biking and secure lock up facilities. Exmoor affords excellent scenic moor and coastal views and the 600+ mile long South West Coastal Path starts here in Minehead. Other activities can be arranged including mountain biking, navigational training, climbing, surfing, pony-trekking and natural history walks and talks.

Refurishments at Base Lodge, everyones favorite first night on the SWCP

A classic hostel with a freindly host, Base Lodge is a firm favorite with walkers starting or finishing the South West Coast Path. Closing in January 2025 for 6 months of refurbishment, Base lodge will re-open in summer 2025 as a smaller more intimate place to stay. We will add updates here as the refurbishments take place, so check back for more details.
