Same old Christmas and New Year?
December 7th 2025
Why not come and stay at All Stretton Bunkhouse? We’re open all through the holidays to individuals, small groups or groups up to 10 people
Brave enough to go wild swimming in Cardingmill Valley? Strike out across the hills for challenging walks? Want to take on the mountain bike trails? It’s all here on your door step – literally. Step outside the bunkhouse and go and do what ever takes your fancy. Our local pub – the Yew Tree – is only closed on Christmas Day. There are food shops and cafes open in Church Stretton over the holidays (except the Christmas Day). If you really feel like cooking a full Christmas Dinner, our kitchen has all the necessary equipment! Can’t promise you any snow, but come and join us anyway.

You have raised £175.50 for the local swimming pool by staying at All Stretton Bunkhouse

We offer a £1.00 per person per night discount for bunkers who arrive without a car – either by public transport, bike or on foot. When you don’t claim it, we collect it for a local charity
We’ve collected for various causes over the years but this has to be the most our bunkers have contributed so far. So a big thank you to all those contributed. Our next cause will be one that is close to our hearts. Last year, All Stretton experienced an extreme weather event on September 26th. Severe rain caused flooding throughout the area and for us, it took the track out up to the bunkhouse and outside it. It also brought down 200 tons of stone off the hills behind the bunkhouse. Luckily, neither our house or bunkhouse were damaged or flooded and we have spent the year making sure it doesn’t happen again – you will see the protection we have put in when you visit. Thanks to the local community rallying round, the bunkhouse was up and running within 48 hours although for safety reasons we did re-house our soggy bunker (ironically a Dutch Water Engineer) in our local pub!
So – for the next year, we will be collecting for the All Stretton Flood Group which was set up and been working with other Stretton flood groups to commission a survey of the area and see where we can best help everybody in the Strettons to be safe ( and dry!) without spoiling our environment.

Summits in Shropshire.
May 20th 2019
I’m in my sixtieth year and am planning on climbing 60 summits to celebrate. There are no criteria about height, and I can do more than one in a day. It’s half way through the year and I’ve knocked off 50! Last weekend a small window of opportunity opened up to escape to Shropshire for a couple of days and I jumped at it.
