Scything and Hay Making Weekend at Broadrake – 5th / 6th August

A weekend of scything and hay making, part of the Flowers of the Dales Festival

Come and help mow our upland hay meadow which is undergoing restoration as a wild flower meadow.

We hope to be working between 10am and 4pm, weather permitting on Saturday and Sunday 5th / 6th August. If you have a scythe bring it along to do some mowing. We won’t be able to offer scything tuition but there will be opportunities to help rowing up and hopefully try some hand baling on Sunday. If you are doing the Whernside round why not drop in to see what is going on.

Bring a pack lunch on Saturday, then on Sunday it will be a bit more of a party. There will be a lunchtime bar-b-que and probably some local musicians playing – bring drinks and something to cook.

This is a free event, part of the Flowers of the Dales Festival. Booking essential – contact info@broadrake.co.uk 015242 41357.
Donations to YDMT appreciated.
