Self Catering accommodation in Hope Valley

Situated in the Peak District's Woodlands Valley, Hagg Farm offers comfortable accommodation for 44 people in 6 dormitories and 2 twin rooms. For larger groups an additional 18 beds are available in the smaller John Hunt Base next door (also in this guide). Hagg Farm has a well equipped kitchen with large gas cooking range and commercial style dishwasher. There is a comfortable reception area, large dining area and a games room with pool and football table. Dormitories and recently re-furbished bathrooms lead off a corridor which provides easy access to outside space as well as storage for outdoor kit and muddy boots.

Outside there is a large playing field with climbing boulder, wildlife garden with large fire pit, and a courtyard picnic area with barbecues. Woodland walks lead from the door and the reservoirs of the Upper Derwent Valley including Ladybower are just over the hill.

Adventure activities can be arranged for groups and are led by experienced and highly qualified instructors. On-site activities include climbing, zip wire, orienteering, bushcraft and various team challenges. News & Offers from Hagg Farm Outdoor Centre

Opened in 1973 as an experimental hybrid of YHA & non-member accommodation.

October 10th 2022

This popular outdoor centre, set in former 19th century farm buildings, was never owned by the YHA. It was owned by the Peak District National park and run in partnership with the YHA. This cooperation with the YHA ended in 1988. In recent years the centre has been run by Nottinghamshire County Council for the benefit of its own schools, other organisations and private groups.

Everything you could ask for in a fire pit and what a location

October 11th 2021

Situated in the Peak District’s Woodlands Valley on Snakes Pass, Hagg Farm, and the small self contained John Hunt Base, are available for hire by groups of friends, clubs, cultural organisations and families.

The firepit has proven a success for all that tried it out. A large stone pit surrounded by off the ground bench seating. Not to mention the ample tree coverage, sure to stave off any drizzle thrown at you. We expect a fair few marshmallows to be toasted here!
