The perfect overnight stop for Pennine Way walkers and C2C cyclists, Garrigill Village Hall's cosy but spacious bunkroom sleeps up to 8 (or 9 with the pull out sofabed). Bedding hire is available. For larger groups, the main hall can offer a further 12 camp beds for those with sleeping bags.

Our picturesque village is close to the source of the Tyne river and has a Post Office/village store. The village pub is scheduled to re-open early 2024.

We offer free WiFi, a roomy modern kitchen for self-catering and a drying room with spin dryer and dehumidifier to dry off those wet clothes after your day's activity. Outside there is a covered cycle shelter with securing rails to keep your bike safe overnight. Bring your sleeping bag or hire our bedding for £5.

Camping is also available for individuals or small groups with outdoor washing-up area and standpipe (cold water only). Campers may use the showers and drying room by prior arrangement for £2pppn.

Garrigill Village Hall is decked out for a weary Great North Trail cyclist or group of cyclists. Located in the North Pennines AONB, Garrigill Village hall is a fantastic stopover during your journey. The village hall has a self-catering kitchen, bunkbeds and further accommodation on the village hall floor and on the campsite.

The village hall accommodation is fully heated and hot showers are available – which is perfect after a hard days cycle in the UK’s unpredictable yet often soggy climate. There is a drying room and somewhere to store bikes. Garrigill is very affordable and extremely picturesque. You are sure of a good night’s sleep!

Perfect Duke of Edinburgh Award campsite and bunkhouse in the Lake District

Garrigill Village Hall in the Lake District is ideal for DofE Groups. There is bunkhouse style accommodation above the village hall and a simple campsite with showers and toilets in the grounds. There is even Wifi. All this and a discounted camping rate for DofE Groups. It couldn’t be better.

The camping in the Hall Field is available most times of the year.  The  village hall’s toilets are open to the public 24/7 and located just off the foyer. They comprise two ladies cubicles and a single gents cubicle and urinal. There are also separate wheelchair-accessible toilet.  There’s an outdoor washing-up area behind the  village hall and free wifi in the hall’s foyer.

The bunkroom above the village hall sleeps 8 with bedding hire available. Larger groups can BYO bedding and use the hall itself where 12 camp beds are available. There a well equipped kitchen, showers and drying room.

Vehicles are not allowed on the  Hall Field.  Limited parking is available next to the public telephone box and on the roadside in the village centre.

Camping in the Hall Field is £7 per person per night with a discounted rate of £4 for DofE or similar bona fide youth activity group.  To book this special rate online contact the bookings secretary for the promo code.

There is an option for a nightly extra £2 per person (please request when making your booking) to dry out your gear and freshen up in the hall’s two shower cubicles and drying room, accessed via the key-coded rear door of the hall.
