The spectacular Corrieshalloch Gorge and the Falls of Measach are just two miles away as well as a vast number of mountains and lochs. The bunkhouse is ideally located for touring the North West Highlands with easy access to the areas of Torridon and up to the beautiful ancient landscape of the Assynt Geopark. Ullapool, the gateway to the Western Isles with its ferry services to Stornaway, offers fantastic places to eat, in particular its excellent fresh seafood. Hostel guests are welcome to relax in the garden and enjoy the many birds that visit. You may even see a visiting red squirrel or pine marten.

    A9 from Inverness north to Tore roundabout, join the A835 towards Ullapool, at Braemore Junction (approx 32 miles) continue on A835 for 2 miles and we are well signposted. Forest Way Bunkhouse is at the end of that track.

Forest Way Bunkhouse has been nominated for the BEST HOSTEL award in this year’s Great Outdoors Awards. What a well deserved nomination for this fantastic bunkhouse surrounded by the best mountain scenery this country has to offer. With with countless Munros, Corbetts and Grahams not to mention The North Coast 500 on the doorstep, it’s the perfect base for mountaineers, hill walkers and cyclists. What’s more the Cape Wrath trail runs close by and pick ups/drop offs can be arranged. Little wonder it was nominated.
