Comrie Croft
Braincroft, Crieff, Perthshire PH7 4JZ 01764 670 140
Before the Act of Union and the birth of the modern British state many Scots lived on crofts, small holdings of land where communal living was the norm. We at Comrie Croft are not only trying to recreate this, but educate and encourage others about the social and eco benefits too. Run by like-minded Crofters, we’re more than just a campsite. Yes, we take tents, but there’s also Nordic katas, an Eco Lodge, an on-site Tea Garden Café (seasonal), a market garden, farm shop, forest school, bike shop, bike trails & so much more.
Campers have a choice of pitches, from our family friendly meadows through to the more secluded woodland or the adventurous Far Away meadow. All pitches have their own campfire pit or bowl (an essential in our eyes). Six of our seven katas can be found in our woodland too. Hand built by our Crofters, they have a wood burning stove, large sleeping platform and quirky outdoor kitchen.
For those preferring some more home comfort we have our eco-lodge - The Steading. A lovingly converted farmstead with a range of room sizes from two to six people, all ensuite. Our shared kitchen and chill out spaces are great for enjoying the camaraderie from meeting other guests.
The Croft offers many ways to spend your days. Up the hill are our award winning bike trails, an excellent way of exploring the hillside, graded blue to black there should be something for everyone. You can brush up on your technique first at their skills park.
Children can run free exploring the woods, searching for moles house, playing in the stream and flying high on the rope swing. Enrol adrenaline seekers in Flow School to hone those mountain bike skills. Younger kids can become a Bushcraft Bairn with Laura at the forest school.
If all that sounds a little too fast paced, why not kick back with a book and a treat from the Tea Garden on the deck, enjoy a little down time.
One thing is for sure, we can’t wait to meet you!
