Bowderstone Bunkhouse, Grange, Keswick, CA12 5XA
Call Reception at the Lake District Calvert Trust on 017687 72255
OverviewFor the more adventurous traveller, Bowderstone Bunkhouse is situated along the Borrowdale Valley by the famous Bowderstone – a massive boulder that has lain precariously on one side for the last 10,000 years! Sleeping up to 12 people (linen and mattresses not provided) it has a kitchen, accessible shower-room and communal area, and is accessible by foot along a 400m wheelchair accessible path, with parking at the nearby National Trust car park. Although with running water, electricity and drainage, this self-catering location is more suited to outdoor groups looking to 'get away from it' as it is a good walk to the nearest shop or pub. Please note, Bowderstone Bunkhouse is also only for use by clubs, educational groups or other organisations such as the Scouts, as it is on National Trust land and has certain restrictions to its use. This accommodation is featured on our map of the Lake District and here is its own website.
