Argyll Backpackers is a fabulous, custom built, accessible hostel with stunning views across Loch Fyne to Arran and over to the Cowal hills. The ground floor can accommodate up to 23 guests in 7 en suite bedrooms for 2, 3, 4, or 6. (24 guests if a z-bed is added to either a 4 or 6 bedded room).
Plus, there's our 'Wee Snug' mini hostel on the 1st floor comprising of 1x double and 1x twin room (not bunks), with shared WC/shower-room, small kitchen, lounge/diner (with sofa bed), guests here also have access to the main hostel 'common-room' to join in the fun.

Past guests have remarked on the wonderful custom made Euro sized comfy beds, giving them their best sleep ever in a hostel!!! Each bed has it's own bed light, USB socket and dookets for specs/mobile etc. There is also free WiFi, a large private car park, covered/secure bike storage, bike repair stand, tyre pumps & bike/surfboard washing facilities, as well as a BBQ area and fire pit. The large comfy 'common-room' (lounge/diner) has patio doors leading to a wrap round outside seating area. The well equipped self-catering kitchen has 3 distinct cooking areas including one accessible for wheelchair users.

Located right beside the A83, which connects Campbeltown with Glasgow, Argyll Backpackers is the perfect place for an overnight break if you are on your way to Oban and the Isles, Bute, Arran, Islay, Campbeltown or even Ireland. For those who want to experience the area, the hostel is just 2 miles from the start of the world famous Crinan canal, 8 miles from Kilmartin where you can explore the ancient Standing Stones, Burial Cairns, Stone Circles & Rock Markings, or for canoeing, cycling and walking in the area.

The hostel has a 7 seater MPV & driver (Pam) which is available with reasonable notice, for taking guests to local eateries or pickup take-aways. Even short trips may be possible around local landmarks and to view the fantastic sunset overlooking the "Paps of Jura.” It's also able to carry 4 bikes on the towball bike rack for those who wish a little help!

Well behaved dogs are welcome in 'private rooms' (not shared dorm ones), but please bring your own pet beds/bowls etc and keep them off all furniture and out of the kitchen.

    On the A83 from Lochgilphead to Campbeltown. Approx 2 miles south of Ardrishaig, next to Inverneil Bridge/Farm road. From the Kilberry road, turn right onto the A83 and we are 300mts along on your right. As the largest building in Inverneil with 'Jack' our mascot standing by the fence as well as our large signs, we are hard to miss. DO NOT RELY ON/FOLLOW SATNAV, AS COMING VIA ARDRISHAIG THIS WILL DIRECT YOU RIGHT PAST US AND INTO A NO-THROUGH ROAD 1KM AWAY...AND THE SAME IF FROM TARBERT, SO 1KM BEFORE US!!!

    No. 926 Bus Glasgow/Campbelltown stops right beside us. Local busses also meet Calmac Portavadie/Tarbert, Lochranza/Claonaig and Islay/Kennacraig ferries.

Dorm bunk (in shared room) from £35pp (for 3+ nights), or £40 per single night;
Private double/twin room for 2 guests from £65pn or £50pn single occupancy in a twin (for 3+ nights), or £70/£55 respectively per single night;
