Trying to avoid the crowds this Easter?
February 24th 2024
There’s plenty to do and see in Shropshire – the famous Cardingmill Valley is a lovely walk from the bunkhouse – you can either go the easy route or challenge yourself by a ‘straight up and down’ route. Once there, you can have tea and cake in the National Trust cafe, maybe a wild swim in the reservoir or take off up the valley to see the Lightspout Waterfall. Soon the hill sheep will start lambing and it’s lovely to watch the newborns chasing each other around the hills. If you are lucky, you may see some of the herd of wild horses with foals. Spoil yourself and come and join us – we don’t mind sharing!

All Stretton Bunkhouse can offer you remote working – in more ways than one!
Imagine starting your day with a walk across the hills to one of the many cafes offering breakfast and WiFi in Church Stretton. Eat a hearty breakfast, do a few hours work, filling up on coffee or tea then set off across the hills to the bunkhouse, make yourself lunch in our fully equipped kitchen, set up your computer, warm your feet on our underfloor heating and finish off your day. No distractions other than the bleet of the sheep, the call of the buzzard and the chattering of the local birds eating their fill from the bird feeders, When you are done, it is a short walk to our local pub for a drink to reward your efforts. (Food served Thursday to Sunday) or order up a Takeaway from Church Stretton,

Summits in Shropshire.
May 20th 2019
I’m in my sixtieth year and am planning on climbing 60 summits to celebrate. There are no criteria about height, and I can do more than one in a day. It’s half way through the year and I’ve knocked off 50! Last weekend a small window of opportunity opened up to escape to Shropshire for a couple of days and I jumped at it.
