On the beautiful Ross of Mull these newly renovated bunkrooms provide self-catering accommodation for exclusive use for small groups and families with a minimum stay of 3 nights.

Located less than a mile from the village of Fionnphort, the location is an ideal base for exploring the dramatic cliffs, white shell-sand beaches and unspoilt natural environment of the Ross of Mull Peninsula whilst experiencing the superb wildlife and rich history of the island. Fionnphort is the ferry port for Iona, as well as the point for day trips to the islands of Staffa and Lunga in the Treshnish Isles.

The cottage sleeps 1- 8 guests in two bunkrooms each with their own bathroom. The bunkrooms have a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious sitting/dining room with a woodburner and a stunning view over Loch Pottie (Loch Poit na h-I). There is space for parking and outdoor equipment.

Just outside is a standing stone which is reputed to have been erected as one of a series of signposts to the Isle of Iona.

For larger groups, Achaban House next door provides luxury accommodation for up to 14 guests in 6 bedrooms for a combined group of up to 22 guests.

    From the ferry port at Craignure turn left and follow the A849 across the south west of the island for 34 miles. The bunkrooms are one mile before Fionnphort and are signposted from this road on the right.

    There are buses from Craignure ferry port to the Ross of Mull. The driver will stop at the Ross of Mull Bunkrooms. Request when getting your ticket.

Wildlife at the Ross of Mull

Mull is a Hebridean island with few settlements and large areas of open wilderness populated by both rare and common wildlife.  During our few winter days on the island we spotted Otters playing in the bright waters of a sea loch, Whooper Swans, Deer, a Hen Harrier, and a Heron, not to mention the free roaming sheep and Hairy Coos.
